A night lover
I had just been saddened by a late and somewhat disappointing release of the Andreas album, one of my favourite artists. But being a loyal fan, I didnt hesitate when I spotted this album in stores. I even think I acted more by reflex than by thinking, I have to monitor that...
On a first examination, this happens during the Potron-Minet period, which isnt the best to me, and centered on Horous, a not-too-much charismatic character, even with his cloak of mystery... This was going to be tough. But I have been conquered at once. The story is really well done this time around, a real episode-like thriller. You learn a few things, and a few more questions appear ('hey... isnt this guy Zongo ?!?'). And what's more, I discover a new and talented drawer.
Vermot-Desroches' style (what has he done before ??) is very readable, and brings about a lot on volume, over people, locations and backgrounds. It's almost 3d-novels, and it seems the colors are not even needed in this department. And finally he sticks closely to the Sfar / Trondheim mold.
All in one a really very good album, helping the wait on other titles that should have been published before, and might be published some day.
