Fifth Avenue

The Fifth Avenue is the most famous street of New York. You heard about it even if you've never been there. It relates to the Champs Elysées in Paris, or to Oxford Street in London, although the Fifth is longer than both. But the parisian Avenue is by no contest the most beautiful of the three. Much larger, more impressive with the Arc on one side and the Concord obelisk on the other. The Fifth Avenue is famous because it divides Manhattan in two, and streets numbers are given west or east, starting on the Fifth. It is also home of the prestigious shops of the City, notably all jewellers.

Starting from the bottom of the Park towards south, you can find FAO Schwartz, a very large toy store, with lots and lots of items, but no Transformers, sorry Lionel !! Just down the street is also the Disney Store, along with Toys'r'Us on Times Squares, these are kids paradises.

Some incredible buildings just below the Park.

Planes are still not forbidden of going over the City, and this sight is quite common.

A view down the Avenue, not so large as you can see.

The St Patrick Cathedral, just opposite the Rockefeller Center is, as all american churches, brand new, of course, compared to european churches, but still seem a little odd in the middle of skycrapers.

The interior of the Cathedral, very classical gothic style.

A detail from one of the sculptures.

The Atlas marks the "entrance" to the Rockefeller Center, which spawns over three blocks.

... And in the middle of it is the skating place (in the winter season), an open-air cafe otherwise. Just at the entrance is this text by Rockefeller himself, the ten commandments of capitalism.

A better view of the cafe and the gold-plated statue.

Somewhere along the Avenue, near the Greenwich Village, is this odd shop.

At last, the rest for the warrior, with the Pokémon shop.
