Wall Street

After the law and politics center, this is of course the economic center of America. The name comes from the time where early Dutch settlers have put a northern barrier for what was then called New Amsterdam, protecting it from indians, but also from the British. Now Wall Street is at the very southern tip of the island.

This is the street itself as seen from the Trinity Church. The Bank of NY stands at the right.

Just a block forward, looking back, the Church.

And greasy new yorker sweating their fast cash profits brewed from the blood of workers.

The Stock Exchange, so famous it captured the Wall Street name for itself. Visits are now forbidden since the september attacks.

The Federal Hall, with the statue of Georges Washington, is on the same corner as the Stock Exchange.

Okay, this is not in Wall Street, but the Bull is quite famous, and is linked to the stock market, symbolizing a booming value.

And a bit north of Wall Street is the Federal Reserve, filled up with billions of gold bars. Yes, Bruce Willis witnessed its robbering in Die Hard 3.
